Seabass

The newest longboard in the catalog designed in collaboration with team rider Mick Chivers. Mick and I began discussing the design at length in the early spring of 2022. He was looking for a longboard that would allow him to maximize his surfing in the wide variety of conditions, especially the small weak summer waves when he has the most time to surf, here in New England with a focus on a stable nose riding platform combined with a nimble and smooth turning tail. After a lot of discussion and Mick sampling a few of the other longboard models I offer we settled on the board you see pictured here.

Using rocker DNA from the Pulpit and Smoketstack’s models as our baseline we landed at a 19” nose width and a parallel forward outline through the midpoint for the stability, pulling into a curvy pintail that creates a slight but smooth hip behind the wide point. Combining that with a mildly rolled bottom that accelerates into the tail from behind the modern blended concave to give Mick the sensitivity and maneuverability off the tail that he was looking for while maintaining the stability and ample surface area for nose riding in smaller surf. Don’t let all the small-talk fool you though this board will hold its own on days with longer period swell and more size on tap.

Mick rides his at 9’10 x 23 1/2” x 3”
I ride mine at 9’8 x 23 3/8” x 3 1/16”
